Pride and UFC veteran, Denis Kang, has reportedly signed a two-fight deal with Canadian organization W1 MMA, according to Top MMA News.

The veteran middleweight is slated to headline W-1: Bad Blood on March 20 at the Centre Pierre Charbonneau in Montreal.

Jack Bateman, president of W1 MMA, spoke glowingly that Kang is a valuable addition to the organization's roster, especially given the recent rumors that he was considering signing with Strikeforce or DREAM.

During his three-fight stint in UFC, he went 1-2 with a decison win over Xavier Foupa-Pokam sandwiched between dispiring losses to Alan Belcher in his promotional debut and to Michael Bisping at UFC 105.

Kang's opponent for the W-1 card has yet to be confirmed.

WEC Quick Quote: Josh Grispi thrilled with the attention he's receiving while on the sidelines

Posted: 24 Jan 2010 06:36 PM PST

After a first round submission victory over Jens Pulver back at WEC 41, Josh Grispi decided that he simply had to do something about an ankle injury that had followed him the majority of his career. Grispi sat down with Dan Duggan of BostonHerald.com to discuss his ascension in the sport, along with the surgery that has halted his progress for the moment.

"I couldn't even walk before I fought Jens (Pulver). I was like 'I can't be fighting these guys with a bum ankle.' There's no point. You have to get to 100 percent. I've never fought any of my fights 100 percent. I don't think anyone really does, but I've been pretty bad with my ankle."

Grispi went on to discuss the fact that, even though he may be out of action due to rehabilitation from his surgery, he is thrilled to still garner positive attention from the mixed martial arts community.

"I'm happy that people are still talking about me. I think I can compete with anybody in the 145-pound division. I'm not scared of anyone. I don't think anyone can throw anything I haven't seen or haven't trained for."

Grispi has had a tremendous start to his WEC career, going a perfect 3-0, with wins over Jens Pulver, Micah Miller, and Mark Hominick. "The Fluke" has never gone past the first round in his WEC career. In fact, his last two fights did not even age one minute, as Grispi managed to finish Micah Miller and Jens Pulver in 50 seconds and 33 seconds, respectively.

However, Grispi will have to wait a little bit longer before he can attempt to continue his rampage through the WEC featherweight division, as the rehabilitation process continues. But for now, "The Fluke" is happy with the attention he's receiving while he sits on the sidelines.

Strikeforce Miami: Marloes Coenen isn't going to let Cris Cyborg walk right through her

Quoteworthy:

"Her strength, of course, is her physique. She's a real powerhouse. She's really good at throwing combinations -- she doesn't just throw one kick and one punch. She tries to walk right through you. I see some weaknesses, but I'm going to keep those to myself until the 30th."

Marloes Coenen stands unfazed in the wake of Cristiane Santos' recent destruction of the Strikeforce 145-pound division, including a first round ass kicking of MMA mega-star Gina Carano last August. The Dutch Dame is confident her ability to expose the weaknesses of Santos will unplug "Cyborg's" title reign at the upcoming "Miami" event on Jan. 30 and a win would make her the second fighter from the Netherlands (Alistair Overeem) to hold Strikeforce gold in 2010. Hopefully she doesn't follow in his footsteps when it comes to title defenses. Does she stand a chance against the Brazilian bruiser?
