For those who may be unaware, the 17-year-old daughter of UFC fighter Jorge Rivera passed away unexpectedly earlier this month. No cause of death was provided. In fact, the obituary indicated that she was “stricken” and died “suddenly” at Kent County Hospital, Warwick, R.I. We’re a bit late on passing along the unfortunate news. However, we didn’t want to post anything until we knew for sure that we could share helpful information. And over the weekend Kenny Florian — who mentioned the tragedy in his UFC 87 post-fight remarks — provided details for a memorial fund that has been set up in her honor. “For those that did not hear my after fight speech regarding the sudden passing of Jorge Rivera’s daughter Jessica, it is a very difficult time right now for Jorge and his family as they try to make sense out of this unexpected tragedy,” Florian said in his most recent newsletter. “Burial fees and medical expenses are significant and whatever help you can provide is very much appreciated.” Florian indicated that you can help Jorge and his family offset the tremendous expenses related to the untimely death by sending donations to:
