Shinya Aoki rocks a Nick Diaz t-shirt at the DREAM 16 pre-fight press conference (Pic).

It reads:

"Nick Diaz - Coming from a troubled past of delinquent and criminal behavior, he has changed his life for the better by finding a different path. With the introduction of jiu-jitsu, Nick was able to shed the image of old and start anew. Now known as an intelligent fighter coupled with explosive striking skills, Nick can claim what very few can, Welterweight Champion of the World."

UFC Quick Quote: Nate Marquardt plans to protect himself at all times against Rousimar Palhares

"I've heard that, that he holds on to stuff too long, but I don't really care about that. When I go to fight, I fully expect guys to do whatever they can to win, and if that means them trying to cheat or whatever, you have to be ready for that. You have to protect yourself at all times and that means even from things that are illegal. I'm going to come prepared and I'm going to do my best to stay out of any kind of submission hold so that issue won't even come up."

-- Nate Marquardt, in a recent interview on "The MMA Hour," reveals that he is well aware of the Kung Fu grip of Rousimar Palhares, who he takes on in the UFC Fight Night 22 main event on Sept. 15, 2010. Palhares has been called out a handful of times for not releasing his submission holds soon enough, including a heel hook on Tomasz Drwal at UFC 111 back on March 27, which resulted in a 90-day suspension despite the win. Marquardt has rich history with fighters who hang on too long -- he struck Ricardo Almeida way back when after the fight was over because he felt "Cachorrao" applied a choke too long after he tapped. Almeida's coach and mentor, Renzo Gracie, flew through the ropes and kicked "The Great" in the grill for the extracurricular activities. Any chance we see more shenanigans on fight night or are both fighters, as well as the referee, prepared to keep it super clean this time around?

Chuck Liddell to decide fight future sometime this month (September)

Quoteworthy:

"It's about how I feel and if I want to go back and make a run at a title and how far away that would be. And whatever I think is left in the tank. I've been doing PR stuff for the last couple months, and I'll finally be home for the month. I'll probably decide sometime in September, when I have time to relax.... I don't feel like there's anything left to prove. I still love fighting, but there's a lot that goes into it. Maybe it might be time. I'm just not sure yet.  You know, I've enjoyed the ride. No matter what, I've had a good time. I never expected it, but I've gotten paid a lot to do what I love. There are no complaints."

Former light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell plans to finally look in the mirror this month and make a determination about whether or not to put a ribbon on his UFC Hall of Fame career once and for all. Liddell was warned by his boss and long-time friend, UFC President Dana White, that he would be released from the promotion if didn't hang 'em up following his third straight (technical) knockout loss, which came at the hands of Rich Franklin earlier this year. LIddell has actually dropped five of his last six appearances inside the Octagon. So here we go again: Should he stay or should he go now? Let's hear it, Maniacs.

MMA Quick Quote: Keith Jardine is on a mission

"I haven't performed nearly to the top of my ability, and that's what this fight is about. That's what this journey outside the UFC is about -- finding myself and getting near the top of my potential. That's what I'm looking for right now. If I do that the sky's the limit."

-- The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) alum and seasoned Octagon veteran, Keith Jardine, tells Sherdog.com that his quest to achieve his full potential begins now. "The Dean of Mean" has dropped four straight fights and six of his last eight, which is a far cry from the fighter who flirted with possible contention about two years ago. Jardine was recently cut from the promotion and is now free to build his career (and possibly confidence) back up in smaller shows to prove that he does indeed belong locked inside a cage with the best of the business. He'll find out soon enough when he takes on one of the more talented 205-pound fighter not on the UFC roster, Trevor Prangley, under the Shark Fights banner in a non title bout on Sept. 11. Will the Greg Jackson-trained fighter have his hand raised for the first time in nearly two years or will Prangley serve up his fifth straight loss?
