"I've got three more fights left on my contract. I don't know how much longer I'm going to stay fighting. I'm 36 years old. I had a lot of changes over the last five years ... so, uh, I still love to compete. I'm I lucky guy. When I go to the gym every day I'm super happy. I have a great crew with me and wherever I go to train. As long I still love to compete inside the Octagon and as long as I enjoy working out, I'll still be here."

Former welterweight champion Matt Hughes sheds some light on his fight future in the wake of his third round technical knockout win over Renzo Gracie at UFC 112: "Invincible" from the Concert Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi last night (April 10). He indicates that he has a few fights left, but that the end could be near if he loses his desire to get in the gym and train. Hughes is the winner of two straight, which means that he can still do his thing when called upon. But is he willing (and capable) of taking on (and defeating) the younger competition such as Josh Koscheck, Jon Fitch and/or Mike Swick -- all of whom have called out Hughes in the past -- or should/will he be matched up against those who have similar years in experience and age?

Anderson Silva intended to 'punish' Demian Maia at UFC 112 for 'disrespect' (Video)

UFC Quick Quote: Demian Maia 'sorry' for slow start and 'okay' with Silva antics

"It took time for me to get warmed up. I started to feel better in the middle of the fight but I didn't do well in the first two rounds. I think in the last two rounds I did well, I went to fight and he was running around but it's okay that's his game and I knew he was going to do that. He was very disrespectful to me but no problem, it's his way. After the fight he apologized but I don't think it's right for him to do this during the fight. He was swearing to me in the middle of the fight, it happens, it's okay, he's the best in the world. I do want to say sorry that it took me so long to get in the fight. I never fought five rounds before so I was trying to hold [back] a little in the first few rounds but then after I got in the motion of the fight I start to fight better but he was winning already, trying to keep his points and walk away."

Grappling guru Demian Maia apologizes to fight fans (via UFC.com) for his participation in last Saturday's UFC 112 main event from the Concert Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The five round fiasco started with the comedic efforts of Anderson Silva as he taunted and baited his foe while teeing off at will. Unfortunately "The Spider" went completely overboard with his antics, swearing at his adversary and running around the ring in frustration. Maia did try to make it a fight in the final rounds; however, Silva had already closed up shop for the night and seemed content to backpedal and coast to the finish line -- which even prompted a warning from referee Dan Miragliotta. There has been a lot of finger pointing following the April 10 event -- any Maniacs out there pointing at someone other than Silva?

Mark Munoz: 'I got no quit in me'

"I just want to improve every time I step into the cage. I wanted to put on a dominant performance and I'm happy with my performance but I did get caught with an uppercut but it's all good because I got no quit in me. That's my goal -- every time I step into the cage I get better. Whatever the UFC gives me [next] I'll be happy to take."

Up-and-coming middleweight Mark Munoz talks to the media following his come-from-behind victory over Kendall Grove at UFC 112 last Saturday from the Concert Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. "The Philippine Wrecking Machine" almost got wrecked by "Da Spyder" after getting dropped with a perfectly-timed uppercut that sent the former light heavyweight crashing to the floor and clinging to Grove's legs for dear life. He eventually recovered and survived multiple submission attempts before unloading his feared ground and pound and forcing the stoppage. Any thoughts on who his next fight should be?

He promises to be back, but would you rather see him stay at welterweight or dip down to 155 pounds his next time out?

Down with the quickness: Frank Edgar knew he could beat the 'best ever'

"It's unbelievable. I've been at it a long time ... it feels good. Every fight go into, I feel that I can win. That's just the best way to do it ... don't doubt yourself.... [BJ Penn] is the best lightweight ever. Hands down. I was just focused and I knew that I could beat him.... BJ's really hard to take down, so you've got to have good stand up. I think that the few takedowns that I did get won me those rounds. I know BJ's very fast, but I think I was just a bit quicker today."

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. UFC Lightweight Champion Frank Edgar basically did just that last night at UFC 112: "Invincible," defying the odds to outpoint 155-pound deity, BJ Penn, on all three judges scorecards. The Toms River, N.J., native set a fast pace early and didn't slow down one bit through five rounds. He used good movement to make the "Prodigy" miss more often than not and then land a few blows before disengaging. He was "in and out" pretty much the entire fight, picking his spots for takedowns (and takedown attempts) carefully. In fact, Edgar feels that those two takedowns could have been difference makers in what was otherwise a very close contest. Was the "quick" gameplan that Edgar executed picture-perfect or should he have done more to deserve a unanimous nod over a lightweight legend?

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) put a ribbon on its first foray into the Middle East with its standard post-fight press conference.

However, there was nothing standard about what was said after UFC 112: "Invincible," which took place at the Concert Arena on Yaz Island in Abu Dhabi.

Company president Dana White was visibly upset about the performance of his middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, but tried to buoy his own spirits by reminding himself about the highlights of the night, including Frankie Edgar somehow prying the lightweight crown from BJ Penn's Kung Fu grip.

White, Edgar, Matt Hughes, Mark Munoz and even Silva all attended the UFC 112 press conference last night to talk about "Invincible" and much more.

Dan Hornbuckle vs Tyler Stinson in Bellator welterweight tournament with Sean Pierson hurt

CHICAGO (April 12, 2010) - Tyler Stinson, the 24-year-old winner of Bellator Fighting Championships' Kansas City tryout has been added to Bellator's eight-man welterweight tournament, replacing Sean Pierson, who was forced to withdraw because of a serious knee injury suffered in training.

Stinson (16-5) will face knockout artist Dan "The Handler" Hornbuckle (19-2) in a first round bout at Bellator 15 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., on April 22.

"I feel really badly for Sean. He's a great guy and this was a tremendous opportunity for him that he was totally focused on. Hopefully, when he rehabs his knee, we can get him back fighting at Bellator. At the same time, I'm happy that we can provide this chance to Tyler and that he was ready to step up and take advantage of this great shot," said Bellator founder and CEO Bjorn Rebney.

"Tyler caught our eye at our open tryout. He's hungry and he can fight, which could make for a very interesting fight with Dan."

Stinson was originally scheduled to participate in a Local Feature Fight against Demi Deeds at Bellator's April 29th event at the Kansas City Power & Light District. A replacement for Stinson in that fight will be announced soon.
